Friday Reflection #29: Working Ahead
What's coming for the rest of 2023, and obsessing over Human Design (again!)
Welcome to Friday Reflections! A weekly series sharing current life reflections, and 1 thought or thing I loved and/or learned from the week as I navigate rebuilding my life as a late bloomer.
Hello hello, love. ♥
There’s been several times this week where I’ve felt reignited about something I’ve been waiting to fall in love with again:
Human Design. :)
At the start of the year, I felt hardly anything. I grasped at anything to make me feel anything but despair.
Like I’ve said before, when I lost mom I didn’t remember why I reached for anything in particular to help guide me like I did before, and unfortunately that came at a time I needed it most.
But one thing I found myself constantly returning to–even if for only a few seconds–was Human Design.
Earlier this year I tried daily EFT tapping which soothed me quite a bit, breathwork and breathing exercises (which didn’t help me much), a course on intentional living and decision-making, and more.
But I noticed that what would guide me the most was what I knew and felt validated by when I’d read parts of my Human Design:
You’re meant to wait for something to respond to. Something that excites you! Keep living in the meantime.
Your root is defined; you know how you get to completing tasks at your own time? Yeah, that’s what defined roots do. And it’s okay!
You want all the answers because your open ajna and head are seeking them. Remember to follow your strategy and authority.
And fast-forwarding to now: I’m watching people on YouTube and trying to guess their profile, or their defined and undefined energy centers.
I’ve been blown away reading my mom’s chart and understanding how out-of-alignment she was.
And now, I passively listen to people take into account their own Human Designs and see so much overlap with how people show up in their designs. It doubles down how much this tool means to me.
So I’m wondering if I can challenge myself…
I’m thinking (not sure yet! We’ll see!) once a month or bi-monthly, I’ll explain a concept from Human Design in 200 words or less. Mostly, it’ll be from my own design (which might fit yours as well in some way!). But maybe… Maybe paid subscribers will have access to polls about what to talk about next so I can pull from that and research it and find patterns I see if I don’t have it in my own consistently lived experience.
I want to see if I can breathe more life into Human Design. Get more people curious about it.
We’ll see; it’s just an idea for now.
Speaking of ideas…
This week I’ve been actually pushing myself into action, but smaller changes and behind-the-scenes things.
Actually, I would love for you to hold me accountable with some upcoming posts for you…
I’m letting the rest of the year be a messy playground rather than just October (I felt so blocked so it didn’t pan out). But, I’m also writing a few things in advance.
Until further notice, for the rest of 2023, I plan to write:
NOVEMBER 2023
Continuing the monthly illustration
An A-L Gratitude list (part 1)
An M-Z Gratitude list (part 2)
DECEMBER 2023
An anniversary post about what life’s been like the first full year without my mom here
A new intro post to the new Living Late(ly) community (formerly known as Losing Orbit) once I’m done with the visuals, about page, etc.
This could be a January post or come sooner depending on how soon everything cohesively feels!
OTHER
Bi-weekly (possibly visual) posts about Human Design and/or words of encouragement
A post (poem?) about validation
More? We shall see! :)
Okay! So working ahead seems fun now! Feels right. And I think I’ve gotten the color scheme down and some details on the backend, too. That should hopefully become more visible for you in the next week or two.
Alright! That’s this week's update, and now to share one thing the Human Design-curious might enjoy…
This One Thing…
This podcast episode is what fueled a lot of this week’s Friday Reflection. Hearing these four women talk about the differences between their own individual Human Design when it comes to running a business (as a generator specifically) was enlightening and I really, really liked it!
(They had ones for if you’re a manifesting generator, a projector, a reflector, and a manifestor too.)
If you’re curious about pulling your own Human Design chart, you can do it here for free.
And if you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Pulling your chart can definitely be overwhelming!
Okay then! I’ll see you next week. :)
