Such a weighty post, Cierra! This God that at the first, separated water from land, just making distinction. I know a man, that was after this God; earnestly in pursuit of this one. He would come to certain conclusions about the one who is beyond our understanding, and conclude this or that. Then he said, God would come along and kick over this theology bucket! The nerve!
I had a brother that questioned the roles; pursued other choices and that did not alienate us. Yet disease and cures both, took him. I always try to make sense of that.

It's so interesting to me how it seems like so many people wanna protect God like He's some glass figure. How connected people can get to what's sacred to them (me too!). I know I've felt attacked asking genuine questions--gotten my head bitten off as if I was trying to clap back!
And I feel I try to do the same around my mom's beliefs and her death. I always wished she'd known more than just prayer and the Bible, but witnessing what she went through just solidified my own personal walk and belief systems.
