Nadia, I truly appreciate every supportive comment you leave. Thank you SO much. I felt like I had something here... I didn't even have that part with my childhood photo and the rest of the piece at first, then it just came to me and I sat and wrote it out until I was finished.
I felt like I really had something special after I came back to it to rework it; it honestly was a lesson for myself to take in as well as I was writing! And why it's important to remain present.
Also I agree, everything that's happened has made me into who I am today and I wouldn't change that!
I'm gonna try to start remembering to sign 'em! And thank you so so much. I'm playing more with illustrations so I'd love to be able to always do them for each piece and individually!
Wow! Your writing describing grief is beautiful and sadly understood.
Grief is here to stay-some days you appreciate the lessons and other days you want it to leave you alone. Thank you for this piece. Every few days I feel it coming(a little stronger than the day before) and today is the day.
Oh Brittany, I hope today has been better! Grief is so weird and such a wild ride, isn't it?
Thank you so much for sharing and taking the time out to comment! I'm glad--if nothing else--that it was well received. Just wish it didn't have to be grief for either of us!
This was so lovely. It reminded me of my grandmother and her place. I lived with for a year or so in my mid 20s and you captured that feeling of being with that generation - it’s pace and the people who enter and exit - so well. There’s always the concern of tapping into nostalgia just for the sake of it but you’re guiding us through these experiences and reaching new ground.
Thank you so so much for such heartfelt words! I'm so happy I'm able to capture that feeling of nostalgia, and am able to leave people thinking as well (yay!).
Rereading this a little distance from when it was written, it is no less relevant. Life is tenuous, precious, delicate at times. Appreciate the life you're living and lessons you're sharing with us , Cierra.❤️ (ps, I think you're gaining orbit! 🌏)
