Sending you so much love & ease in this new season, Cierra! My dad died around this time five years ago & the way that death & grief changed me is unexplainable. Holding space for you 🫶🏽
I'm so sorry for your loss as well! And thank you for YOUR condolences and love. Navigating life with her gone as well as my title and role as a caregiver is so interesting and strange now. My future is overwhelming because I've halted so much because I was working my life around my mom.
Trying hard to take others' advice to just sit back and let what I need to do come even if it's rest, grieving, creating for myself... Whatever!
So for now I've just been documenting this whole transition in Google Docs and plan to just upload it to a new Substack publication I made. It's public but I'm not gonna announce it ya know? Kinda just for me and if people find it or ask for it then I'm hoping it'll help someone feel seen or heard.
Thank you for sharing and holding space for the loss I've experienced. I hope you figure out what works best for you to navigate this new season. I appreciate you even sharing what you did, because it's such a sensitive topic..and sensitive place to be in emotionally. Praying for ease and understanding, because WHEW!
I lead a virtual grief group for young-ish (20s-40s) black folks and other people of color. It feels good to be on Zoom to just share how hard it all is, while also being honest about where we are...and also laughing..and cussing..and feeling the feels. One of the community members coined us the "saddie baddies" lol and it's so fitting. If it ever seems aligned for your healing journey, would love to have you there.
Ahaha, the saddie baddies I *love* it! And I think I'm gonna do it?! Make that substack. Now THAT'S gonna be raw and vulnerable... but I think I'll share it with groups I trust first then let it be more known depending on the feedback.
I'll definitely keep the saddie baddies in mind if needed! Would you like to personally be notified if I follow through with the substack publication?
My condolences to you.❤️
Thank you so much! ♥️
